Is horizontal directional drilling harmful or damaging. The truth exposed.
You’ve just arrived home from a long day at work and you find a goofy looking machine like the one pictured above sitting in your yard. You immediately wonder, “what is this contraption, why is it here, & what damage is it going to do?”
In short, Horizontal Directional Drilling (HDD) is one of the least intrusive forms of installing conduit or cables. The process works by drilling underneath the earth to place the conduit instead of cutting open the ground. This method can be extremely beneficial when needing to cross roads, rivers, driveways, and any other object that you don’t want to destroy. While this isn’t completely “dig free” it is one of the cleanest options to use when trying to minimize the restoration needed on your property.
